Are you a person named Gloria Lux?
Nope! Gloria Lux is latin for ‘beautiful light’ - which is the secret sauce for great photos. Don Adkins is the chief button pusher of the operation.
Why don’t you offer typical photo packages?
Great photos are a luxury that should fit every budget. While our pricing page offers some examples of services we have performed in the past, our prime directive is to deliver superior images in the confines of a comfortable budget. In other words, we want to work WITH you on a custom package. We want YOU to determine what is best for you and your unique requirements. Need a few high quality shots for a dating site? An entire event shot including portraits? Products you want brought to life? No package can cover all the possibilities.
Where do you get the images for your website and Instagram?
All of the photos you see on the website or our Instagram page were taken by us and done free of charge. We do not believe it is appropriate to charge a client for a photo then use it for our own marketing purposes.
Will my pictures be edited?
Yes they will! Our edits vary from natural touchups to putting your dog in a space suit on the surface of Mars. During the course of our conversation about your shoot, we will discuss what level of editing you desire and will deliver accordingly. Many folks like things tidied up but very natural looking, others prefer a touch more editing to cover acne, crows feet, age spots, scars, etc. Others seek a stylized image. The decision is entirely yours.
Do you travel?
Yes! We are currently based in Missoula, Montana but we have gone as far away as Australia, Europe and Canada. So anywhere in the United States is not a problem, including Alaska and Hawaii. Even as far away as Eastern Montana! We have done portrait commissions, product photography, corporate events, and varied special occasions all over the world and are equipped to deliver stunning results.
When do we get our images?
Right away - typically within 24-48 hours on the outside unless a previously agreed upon timeline is set. We know what we are doing and are very well equipped to get your high quality images in front of you ASAP! We are never too busy to be of service to our clients.
How will we get our photos?
Any way you wish! Most often, we deliver two folders of digital images via Dropbox. This is the most rapid delivery and allows us to give you two formats at the same time. One folder will have super high resolution photos perfectly suited for VERY large prints. The other folder will have the exact same images only in a format that is easy for you to email, or upload to Facebook, Instagram, etc right away. If we are using our printing resources for your project, you will still get the images right away via dropbox while we have the printers work their magic. If you prefer an alternate way of having your photos delivered, we can very likely accommodate your needs.
What is the best way to book with you for amazing pictures???
Call or email works best. A phone conversation tends to be the most elegant way to make an appointment so we can discuss all the facets you may want to take advantage of, such as make up artists, custom locations, time of day that works best, etc.
Do you ever use a second photographer or assistant?
Of course! When available, we are delighted to have one of our professional associates assist / shoot with us and often for very little, if any extra charge!
Why is this? Well, these pro photographers have already proven their merits to Gloria Lux and meet our high standard of output. Plus, how could getting two perspectives, two styles, and two vantage points possibly be a negative for you the client? Some are surprised by this attitude, but we are very secure in our capabilities and are delighted to offer the diversity of some of the very best photographers in the world.
